What's On Week 6!

Hello everyone!

I hope you enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. I cannot believe that it's week 6 already, there's only 6 more weeks to go until the end of semester! We are working hard in the classroom, it's great to see and hear how far the children have come since the start of the year. Thank you for emailing me your child's reading minutes for the Read More in May challenge! Please post your child's reading mins on this Blog (as a comment) so that all the children can see too! Thank you for continuing to implement similar strategies at home in reading and writing! Please continue reading with your child every night/day, and implement the 'fast' cards activities/games to support their intake of HFW (High Frequency Words). Let me know if you need any further resources.

Also, could you please bring a baby photo of your child this week as part of our inquiry unit "Where we are in place in time and how we express ourselves"? Indoor Gardening, Tuesday May 5th

What's On Week 5!

Hello everyone!

I’m sorry about the delay with this week’s what’s on, I’m finally recovering from food poisoning :( and will be back in tomorrow. I hope all the mothers had a lovely mother’s day on Sunday! (The children liked the idea of a hug coupon!). I want to thank Sarah and Jodi for helping out on Tuesday for our indoor gardening session. The children made caterpillars using soil and stockings! We are currently watching them grow in our classroom.

The children went to SFX Church on Wednesday for the morning Mass. They tried their best to sit still and listen! They were intrigued by the symbols and Saints in the windows. Leading up to the excursion we had been exploring the symbols and objects of the Catholic Church, with children creating beautiful illustrations in their R.E books!

What’s On, Week 4

Hello!
I hope you’ve been enjoying this lovely weather! The preps visited the Life Ed Van on Wednesday (apologies for not being there as I was unwell), and were very keen to tell me all about Harold! We had been discussing what it means to be healthy all week, it was nice to hear how some children exercise with their parents!

We are now in the month of May (that crept up quickly) and we are encouraging all children to read more, as part of the ‘Read More in May’ campaign. Mrs Elwood is holding a raffle competition each week for the top 5 readers of each grade. If you could please advise me of your child's total reading times (hrs.) by each Friday morning, through this blog, then the top 5 students will go into a draw to win a prize!

We also have our excursion to Saint Francis Xavier Church on Wednesday, please meet us at there at 8.50 am (permission forms were sent through Care Monkey). Furthermore, the Mother’s Day stall and Fresh Food are on this Friday!
